AWARD WINNING DOG PARK
Did you know Bark Park was recognized as being one of the 10 best dog parks in the entire nation in 2008 by Dog Fancy Magazine? It’s true – we have one of the nation’s best dog parks right here in Frankfort, Illinois! They are located at: 80th Ave. & Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL 60423 (northwest corner of Commissioners Park).
WHAT MAKES BARK PARK SO SPECIAL?
- The park has its very own card entry system that tracks dog vaccination records. This added level of safety ensures you and your dogs can play without any worry of catching an infectious disease.
- Lights are available at the push of a button! From 4pm-8pm (October-February), you can light up your dog’s play area by pressing the activation button before entering the dog park. The lights will turn off at 8 pm, since the dog park is only open from dawn to dusk.

Bark Park opened in May 2007 and features a 3-acre area divided into two separate areas: one for small dogs and one for large dogs (26lbs+). It is connected to Commissioners Park, so there are many other activities nearby for the whole family, including picnic areas, playgrounds, splash pads, baseball fields and even a skatepark. The dog park also has:
- Water spigots.
- Shade shelters.
- Wind shelters.
- Free waste bag dispensers.
Membership Costs:
- Residents: $60/year
- Non-Residents: $65/year

Here are a couple testimonials about Bark Park:
“Included in [the membership} is private access to a massive enclosure that’s all soft grass. There’s shaded areas, free poop bags, and a time out section if your dog gets a little too excited to be frolicking out in the sun. It’s honestly my dog’s favorite place to play, and I don’t even mind driving about 45 minutes from the city to do so.”
“Great place for dogs to play and socialize.”
