The St. Michael Parish was established in 1867 and is a Catholic Church in Orland Park. Their first celebrated Mass was on the Feast of St. Michael on September 29, 1867. They have since grown into one of the fastest expanding parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago. They take pride in having a community of people from diverse educational, financial, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Their parish office hours are from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, 1:00pm to 4:30pm Saturday, and 9:00am to 12:00pm on Sunday. They are always welcoming new parishioners no matter if you are new to the Catholic faith, new to the area or a returning catholic.

They have 6 Parish Ministries including: Worship/Prayer, Parish Life, Outreach/Service, Education/Formation, Hispanic, and Youth. They are also called Commissions and are intended to unify the parish. The groups in each commission aim to meet the broader parish goals, identify resources and distribute information.

Their worship/prayer ministry consists of: altar servers, cantors, choirs, eucharistic ministers, lectors, liturgical dancers, musicians, novenas, prayer groups, rosary groups, sacristans, ushers, and facilitators for baptism and marriage.

Their out outreach/service ministry seek to help the homebound, sic, drying and grieving individuals. Their programs consist of: bereavement, food drives, gift giving, grief support, house blessings, soup kitchens, among others.

Their education/formation ministry consist of many programs including: sacramental preparation, bible study groups, scripture groups, men’s retreats, women’s retreats, prayer groups, among others.

Their youth ministry is for pre-schoolers through college age children to grow in faith, friendship and service and consists of numerous groups including: mission trips, high school pilgrimages, coed sports, high school retreats, junior hight retreats, junior high field trips, soup kitchens, vacation bible school, girl scouts and cub/boy scouts.

Their parish life ministry is intended to help plan for the life of the parish, as they gather together to pray, serve and share Christian friendship. This ministry consists of the following groups: pastoral council, finance council, men’s club, moms’ group, women’s club, Knights of Columbus, and the young adult ministry.

Their hispanic ministry focuses on involving their involving their hispanic community in worship, service and parish life and consists of: bible study, Good Friday stations, Hispanic choir, worship ministries, sacramental preparation, hispanic retreats, hispanic youth groups, Quinceaneras and weddings.
